The PANSW was formed in 1921, and currently represents the professional and industrial interests of approximately 16,500 members. PANSW is owned and controlled by its members and is a registered trade union organisation pursuant to the Industrial Relations Act.
The PANSW is represented by Branches situated throughout the state. Each Branch elects an Administrator, a Chairperson and numerous Vice-Chairpersons, and branches exercise strategic decision-making direction and control at each Biennial Conference, held every alternate year in May.
